A friend down the road has just given me a large clump of the above. She had grown it for about 5 years and while looking very healthy it has hardly flowered with her.
My garden is more sheltered and mostly South facing so as with a few other plants I have had more success with her "cast offs" than she has. Anybody got any info as to how to get more flowers? Being native to Australia I would imagine the key to it flowering is sun....something we have had you know all what of this summer! I live in Scotland but not in a truly cold/mountainous part and can grow many plants with reasonable success. Apart from sun which I cannot control mores the pity, does anybody grow this and if so do you get lots of flowers. Any pointers would be very helpful.

Lucky you they are really lovely. Never grown them but I do believe thay are best grown facing South, East or West - so maybe she had hers growing North! Obviously they love to be in full sun but they also enjoy cooler weather. And they do like enough space to grow and to be left undisturbed. Once established they are quite drought tolerant. So I think it must be down to location.
I'm sure someone who's grown them will come along with an answer.

I have grown blue indigo (Baptiste A.) for about 2 years last year the plants were quite young so this was the first flowering year. You can save the seeds almost lupin-Esk but they take 3 years to flower. They are tap root and advice seems contradictory. The more water the better in my opinion.
I grow mine south facing and they do well.

Not sure that will help but there we go!
