My computer threw a wobbly yesterday, and stupidly I started looking at programmes and touched buttons that I probably should not have touched.

I cannot remember now what I tampered with, and now when I try to things with the Internet I get- 'your preference cannot be read, some features may be unavailable and changes to preferences won't be saved' Any advice please ?

If you could say what version of Windows you are using and what version of Internet Explorer you'll probably find folk are more able to offer suggestions. As it stands it looks like, at a guess, the settings applied to IE have been changed. I don't think it will be too difficult to sort out.

    Two options come to mind....

    1. Reset internet explorer.
    2. Install and use another web browser for example Google chrome.

MSN is not a Browser, You need either Firefox, Chrome or Safari instead of Internet Explorer.

I am running Windows Explorer 9 as default.
My Content Advisor tells me of problems.
Network Account Protection is off, and I cannot find the programme.

One thing you could try quite safely is to download and instal Firefox and try that as your internet browser. If it doesn't solve the problem you've nothing to loose as you'll still be able to revert to IE or Chrome (ugh!)
