Hello again - can anyone advise on our privets.

We have a mixture of green and yellow privet hedging and following this awful weather, the yellow leaves have all gone brown. I've never seen it so before - are they dying or will they recover?

We're in Lincoln, so we're far from the worst affected, but it has been down to about -7C

    Many thanks
    Barbara

    Hi Barbera,

They should recover, we've had a minus 15 here back in January & ours were fine.
You'll probably loose the leaves for a while if they've been damaged though.

Hello Barbara. Privet is tough stuff. Last year the winter was so cruel for such a long time. All the hedges around here had turned brown and looked dead. I thought we were all going to be living open plan.
Come spring the privet all came back. It was a bit sad looking for a while but it made it.
I'm sure yours will be fine.

Thank you, that's good news - yes, the 'open plan' would have been a bit of a disaster!
    We'll hope for the best.
