mmm, those pink fir apples look yummy Pete. Ziggy, your sister is lucky to have the WW2 Pill Box...and a brother than can repair it! I love the stone on the exterior, what would the roof have looked like? More stone, turf?
(pity about the squatter who has alchoholic beverages and a BBQ....or is that you on a lunch break?

The wine is one thing we would miss if the romans left.

I sit in there on rainy nights contemplating what the home guard must have felt like, they had a small area outside where i guess they would of had a cooking fire for their tea. The sides that face the estuary are clad with local stone so it would look like a garden wall to invading forces.

    Mushrooms occured to me too.

Sorry, no squatter, thats just me having a drink & feeding me & the kids :dh:Keeps the bbq away from nosey neighbours.

The roof is just poured concrete, you can see the grain of the timber still preserved in the roof.

I'm using lime mortar to do the repair so as not to confuse any future archeologists, they would know this was a later repair.

Roof has pretty much got its own ecosystem now, don't know what it was like at first.
