No, I'm not trying to grow one but we have an unwanted new nocturnal visitor who makes light work of digging into our garden and we have been told he may also make light work of our veg patch. Does anyone out there have any tips to stop him digging in(apart from taking away his spade) Any smells that might deter the chap etc:idea:

    HELP!

I saw a snippet on the local news the other week, about badgers, and they had dug up a lawn in this big house. The advice they give was to make the food easier for the badgers to get, rather than digging for worms they suggested to throw peanuts down instead.

I would have thought that peanuts that you put out for birds would work, perhaps give that a go!

    Hope this Helps!

:wink: My cuz has a similar problem.. She now puts a bit of food down outside her fence, but to stop them coming in they use a rather unusual smell..!!
:thmb: They were given this tip from an old boy in their village who said it worked for him.. I think he has most of the village doing this now...!!! :hehe: At all the points where they used to come in her husband takes care of it...!!! He pees or collects his pee & sprinkles it around the boundary area....!
In other words marking his territory....! No badgers come in now....!!!!!:D
Apparently badgers do not like the smell of male urine...!!!!! Not sure I do, but nobody who does this, has badger problems in their village now.....!!!! :hehe:

 I am not sure if it works but have heard people using "Silent Roar" Cat deterrant Lion Poo..!!

    Thanks Guys :rotfl:

I'm going to be on peanut duty and leave the other sort of pee to hubby. :flag: Just had to choose this icon as it does seem appropriate.

Don't plant with bone meal... they love the smell and dig out anything planted with it!

Try tea bags soaked in Jeyes fluid!
