Hand Saw

Can anyone recommend a decent sharp hand saw for cutting trees?

You say cutting trees, do you mean the odd branch, or bigger?
There are a number of folding saws that I find useful around the garden, which vary in price from a few quid in somewhere like Wilkinsons, to the tens/twenty pound range if you go for felco. http://www.worldoffelco.co.uk/menu/305/Felco Pruning Saws.html

I have used in the past a sheathed saw, rather than a folding saw, and I found that they could get into the parts that a bow saw couldn't, but was more substantial to a folding saw.
