The unimproved lilac has single flowers, a good scent, makes a good cut flower and spreads by suckers. Just what I want in a corner of my garden. But I've seen bushes with pinkish flowers and with bluer ones. In my view, the bluer ones are much prettier. Are there different varieties or is this colour variation due to the acidity of the soil?

You can get different colours - have a look here for some of them.

I have a dwarf lilac but I want either one called Syringa vulgaris 'Sensation' when I have enough space :wub2: or one called 'Primrose' which is yellow.
