Can anyone tell me what this plant is please? I have a number of them that have been planted by the previous occupants. I don't think it's a root veg. Thanks very much

Mustard Greens? or another brassica sold as 'Oriental Greens'. I've got a packet of seeds for something identical somewhere.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Are these planted in rows? (i.e. not weed or self sown).

It reminds me of perpetual spinach but the leaf shape is not quite right for that.

I'd go with some kind of oriental mustard. Have you tasted it?

It tastes fine, a bit tangy which makes me think it's mustard greens. There was one random plant and a wee row of about 6 others. Thanks to all for your advice.
