petunia seeds

    hi all, i was just wondering what the germination time is for petunia seeds, they have been in nearly 2 weeks now and still no sign?

    ok got the chart thanks, is the in section for sown indoors and the out for outdoors also whichever box the number is in is that the days germaination needed?

    Did you cover the seed? It needs light to germinate (I only cover with vermiculite which is sufficiently transparent not to interfere with germination)

    They will appreciate some bottom heat too. And they will be tiny when they germinate, so at the very least you will need to look very closely for signs of germination :)

    10 to 21 days on the packet , I find 5 to 9 days on a heated prop . Petunias are tiny fussy little seedlings which take some care to bring on . Far easier to buy from your local GC ! I sometimes wonder why I bother growing them :wallbanging:
