Apparently deer don't like the smell of Lavender but I haven't tried them. They haven't touched my poppies or lupins.
No, Magnolias aren't deer resistant Dave. They aren't as attractive to eat as other plants but deer/muntjacs will damage them.

Rain was expected today but it's stayed dry and mostly sunny, 16C/61F.
I use it for Yorkshire pudding and find it better than ordinary flour.
