Can anyone come up with ideas for a speaker at our annual plot holders meeting

last year i invited someone to talk about composting - i took him round the site, outlined the audience group etc etc - he seemed quite enthusiastic - he spent the time talking about himself and his career path!!! i could have thumped him!!!

    so, anyone got any ideas?

Don't think I could tell you anything you don't already know about allotments and such, but I do give a talk called "Behind the Scenes at Chelsea" to garden societies.

Yes, I do talk about myself! But then I've built three gardens there, so I guess I can get away with it.:)

Not sure where you are - I'm down on the coast between Rye and Hastings if it's any help.

I just thought of something funny (with reference to Hyde Park):
you could have "the speakers' corner" in "gardeners corner"...

PS I will think of something and PMyou. Where are you based?

It depends on whether you want a celebrity or not Loopy Lou. I think Christine Walkden comes at a reasonable fee.

      thanks all

I am in a villager just south of swindon, we couldnt afford a celebrity though!

The plot holders range from totally inexperienced 19 year old to a ninety year plus utter expert!

      Thanks for replying

Could you not make contact with gardening clubs in your surrounding area, to see if they can help.
