I've been doing some work recently in a new garden, digging the borders and whatnot, and I need some help identifying some bulbs.
The pale ones I think are blue bells? But when they divide, do they produce long thin ones?
And the smaller ones, with more of a husk around the bulb I'm not sure on, they look a little like a crocus but I know their not?
Anybody shed a little light please?
    Thanking you in advance

Hi gardendr, The white, elongated ones do look like bluebell bulbs. I'd guess at the others being crocosmia (montbretia).

Personally I'd bin the Bluebell bulbs you have being The Spanish variety as they can become a complete pest. I continually wage war against them and am not winning! Despite putting down very strong membrane and bark chip they will still appear and seem pretty resistant to weedkiller as well. I get a bit cross when I see them for sale on the likes of Ebay as they are extremely difficult to eradicate and maybe people don't know this also there are so many other bulbs you can grow which are 10 times nicer IMO and aren't thugs.
