      Hi Woo ... I too installed 10 and then reverted to 8.1. I have had little or no problems so I am surprised if that had anything to do with a fault on your hard drive. What gives you that idea? :)

        wiseowl - so you have changed your mind about how wonderful Windows 10 is? If so, perhaps you might mention - on the Windows 10 thread - what problems you encountered to forewarn others?

          Good morning @whis4ey and @Rosebay:smile:

          @rosebay
          With the greatest respect to assume which you must be,that as you so profoundly put it.by using the word "Wonderful"in a less than amiable sense,I have not changed my mind about,lets use your word "Wonderful" Windows 10,the fault lies with yours truly and not Windows 10,and I will has you have so kindly and diligently pointed out be letting all my friends and that includes your good self;) on the Windows 10 thread,if you could just be a little patient until I have sorted my PC out,it would be very much appreciated my friend,enjoy your day;)

          @whis4ey life is full of surprises my good friend and it is not an idea it a fact,because you have done it once without any problems,doesn't prove that it is the same for everyone,to truly test anything you have to cover lots of different scenarios and that is what I have done;)

            Sorry you have been having probs Woo, and that it has been upsetting you. I hope all will be well shortly.
            I still can not see any possible connection between versions of Windows and a fault on a hard drive though :scratch:

                Good evening @whis4ey my good friend all sorted now,I will now try and explain what has happened ,I am 99% sure that because I upgraded to windows 10 and then reverted back to Windows 8.1 not once but 3 times it left some spaces and corrupted my hard drive so the moral of this story is by all means do it once or even twice,but under no circumstances please don't attempt it 3 times,fortunately I had several spare hard drives so I used one of them;)

                        I'm just delighted that I've found how to turn off the nagging pop up I was getting to upgrade to the free issue of Win 10. And, the more I read about the many issues with Win 10 the happier I am sticking with 8.2.

                        Good morning @Dave W my friend each to his own;) I am politely and respectfully disagree with you,no offence intended, you let a pop up get under your skin ! Oh no:heehee: yes there are issues as with everything new,but its us with the pioneer spirit that will help Microsoft resolve them,so that windows 10 will be safe and trouble free for future generations:old:

                          I'll stand behind you Woo. Well behind!! :love30:

                          I'll maybe think about "upgrading ?" in two or three years, but I've too many radio related bits of hardware as well as radio related software hooked up to my Win 8.2 PC. And I know that some of the software will not run on Win10.
