Info. I have nearly been caught out with my driving license.
I changed from a paper copy to a credit card style (photo) a while ago
because the paper copy was a bit thread bare.
I have found out today that the credit card type I have has a life of ten years! and mine is due in Jan 09.
Please dont get caught out like I easily could have..
    Go check....

When I got my plastic photo DL in December 2007, I was pleased to see it was good until December 2017 .... I did read it! I was then less than pleased when I turned it in for a Portuguese DL when I got my residency in February of this year and was issued with one that is only valid for the duration of my passport which expires in August 2012 .... five years lost in a moment! Apparently when I renew my passport, the DL will then be valid for the duration of it.

Oh well, better than in America where you have to have a DL for each State you move to .... there is no such thing as the UNITED States!
