    Rather than spray with glyphosate I use this Roundup Gel Spot Treatment Weedkiller, I can get right in and carefully wipe it on the weed leaves:

    Like WOO I wouldn't use it anywhere near any precious plants such as roses though, some are very susceptible to the slightest whiff of the chemical. I only ever use it at the allotment in early spring on the few stubborn weeds with deep roots (brambles & docks) and never amongst a food crop.
