Well I'm new to this forum. I've always loved gardening and am really determined to start growing some fruit and veg!

I live in a house with a wee patch (about 3 1/2 feet wide and about 17 feet long) at the side and would love to get stuck in and turn that soil over (get weeds out also obviously!) and see some veg growing!

I am currently reading a book from the library "1001 Ways to be a better gardner", I am only on about the 3rd topic but it seems good and informative.

As you've gathered I'm a keen but quite unsuccessfull gardner :(. Put it this way, the last time I planted carrots (last year) they were the size of a strawberry (I know chardonnay carrots are meant to be small but COME ON!)

I'm not exactly in the best finantial situation just now (hence wanting to grow my own veg+fruit, that isn't the only reason though. Don't get me wrong) so here goes a plea...

If you have any seeds for fruit and/or vegetables could you possibly post them to be free of charge and help me start up my garden ? (hopefully with you guys help MORE SUCCESSFULLY than last year!). If you could I would appreciate it VERY much.

    Well thats about it. Bye!

Well I saw PeterS had some for give-away. I contacted him asking if he had any left. Their not veg+fruit though, just plants. But I can have some flowers in the garden too. Brighten it up!

Hello. Thank you for the kind welcomes. I have just been over to my Grandas earlier on to fix his computer and he has LOTS of seeds (some are old and probably useless but I'll try them!). He gave me all of them (4 ice cream tubs full Ha Ha!). I sorted them out. There is chillies, beans, peas, carrots, spinnage, lettuce you name it, its there! hahaha. There is also a big selection of old flower seeds which should work ok (most anyways). I am still short on the following though: Lettuce seeds, Carrot seeds (I really need lots of them) and don't have any strawberry seeds (I love strawberries!). So if you have any that you don't need I'm still up for charity, haha.

Hi Jamie and welcome. I've sent you a PM. I have a number of flower seeds - but no veg.

That's not quite true, I have seeds of Atriplex hortensis (Red Orach) - see below, which I grow as a flower - gets up to 5 or 6 feet. But If you don't like it as a flower - you can eat it. :D
