Just spotted this link on another forum, it has decided me completely-Free Palestine

free them from the rivalry of Hamas and Fatah, and from the US backed Israeli guns, and especially from the cowardly Hamas who are using the countries children as a shield.

It surprises me that everyone is in high dudgeon about this war all wars are wrong casualties appear on both sides, let's not forget thousands of innocents were and are being killed in Iraq,Afghanistan not to mention genocides in the Congo and other parts of Africa but these fade into the background as soon as they disappear off the front page.

Well said Walnut. Or the sickening and ongoing crisis in Zimbabwe?

What also strikes me is how ineffectual the UN have become. All the can do is ineffectively bleat for a ceasefire. Remind anyone of the League of Nations?

I agree with you walnut - there are no winners on either side in any war - I just wish they both sides would stop right now - they won't of course :(

Your right. Not *ALL* of the worlds problems are britians fault.

But a significant amount of them are.

Much of the african wars are directly attributable to us - we came along and said "all this area is now a country". Never mind the fact that it contained tribes which hated each other and now were forced to have the same government.

We created Israel, along with the US and france. That turned into an awesome sucsess. We created India and Pakistan, and helpfully forgot to deal with the North West Frontier region, as it was - actual quote from Mountbatten "A bit tricky..." Which will almost certainly be the next cause, or at least the trigger point, of a nuclear war.

Britian *meddles*. We get involved with things that have nothing to do with us, kill a few people, and then leave things in a worse mess than before we got involved. Iraq being a good current example. And Afganhistan. Before the US and UK went into Afganhistan, the taliban only controlled 30-something percent of the country. Now they have 75% of the country.

The US has very definately taken over our meddling role, but meddling still occurs.

You are not responsible for that. Neither am I. But it is a fact that it has happened. It's a fact that the british, over the last 150 years, have made the world a more fractious place. And, thankfully to a lesser extent, we are still at it.
