I dont really know what the mood of other people was at the time, I do remember mine though.

Its was let the Irish have it, its not worth the hassle.
Probably wrong, some would say, but it was a totally different situation, I cant see how you can draw a parallel with what is going on in Gaza.

I think it was stated on the news tonight that Israel knows there is no military solution to the problem.
So, if that is the case, this is just a punishment exercise, a kind blow the place to bits then withdraw till the next time.

I was absolutely serious Jenny. Women are vicious. And not just the drunken ones I referred to, I mean in general including right up at the top.

I believe Margaret Thatcher was a women, the only British prime minister ever to have been feared by the leaders of the world's two biggest super powers (US and USSR).

But lets not get into a debate about which is best, male or female, because as women the world over have been so keen to point out for so long (and rightly so in my opinion), in almost every respect excluding obvious anatomical differences, there is no real difference between men and women.

 

I don't think Jenny was being rude, I think what she was saying is one person's experience is statistically insignificant when trying to measure, in this case, the worth of women in world peace.

I could have been offended by the tone relating to women which seemed to suggest women were all violent lunatics who should never be let any where near world leadership, but I guessed that wasn't the posters intention, based on other posts around the site.

 

And there's me giving the benefit of the doubt. clueless the following quotes are quite offensive

"Women are vicious" and "there is no real difference between men and women".

I think it's a very offensive comment....women are not an homogeneous group. Some women probably can be vicious. I'm not.

Let me see if I've got this straight.

If I say that women are not as capable of ANYTHING as men are, then that will clearly be sexist and offensive. If I say that women are generally the same as men, as in gender doesn't come into it, then that too is sexist and offensive, yet if I challenge a remark that women are peaceful and men are vicious by sharing my own experience and at the same time acknowledging equality, then that too is offensive?

That being the case, I'm out. if we can't be civil, then I'm simply not interested.
