Can anyone recommend a good website/retailer where i can purchase a japanese maple from? Went to my local B & Q and wasn't impressed. Compost in the pots was like dust

I think i might have a problem with my 2 acers. On the orange dream there has appeared some white type branches
    [IMG]
and on the other acer there are brown tips on the edges of the red leafs
    [IMG]
They have been watered regularly, but not over watered. Has anyone ideas?

Cut the little dead looking branches off
Don't worry about the specks on the leaves. We are having most unusual weather conditions and your plants need time to settle in and be happy
Next year they will begin to show you how beautiful they intend to be [IMG]
I wouldn't worry about anything I see there
Are they getting a little too much wind and rain?

    hi whis4ey

There are quite a few white branches on the orange dream, but there only on the thinner branches. Don't think there getting to much wind because nextdoors look beautiful, but they are a different type one with greeny/ pinkish leaves?

Well certainly the ground is wet underneath that little right toe [IMG]
We have been having loads of rain. Are the pots well drained? Lift them out of the pot to see if the soil is too sodden. These plants like even moisture content (not dry/wet/dry/wet) in well drained soil. It just might be something to do with it
My own plants are suffering at the leaf tips this year ... I have been putting it down to wind and rain in lousy weather conditions that neither I nor the plants are used to [IMG]
