Here is something that my wife will not tackle.:oopss:
I have just zapped the oven with a product I have used since the dawn of my own cooking exploits. Mr Muscle is in my mind (not others) the best oven cleaner that does what it says on the can. I have tried without success different products and home remedies to which none have come close for me.:love30:
The poor old oven has not been cleaned since August and is in need of a spruce up before the winter feasting takes hold. :dancy:
There is but one problem with this product and that is the foul smell which comes from the can due to the make up of what they put together to make it work.:eeew:

The after effect is the oven has to be baked before the food can be allowed back in as there is an after taste to all foods which is not good. I do not mind doing this as it tells me that the winter can be a blessing not a burden.:patpat:
Once done we can go all winter without the need to clean it again till spring.

What is this "cleaning" of which you speak?

Best do it on Jan 1st as it'll surely be filthy again after the Yule.

      Priorities, priorities.

Sorry still cleaning as it is a very poorly and been sick all over its surfaces.
This black burnt stuff is so hard to remove it needs a second application of me spray to get into everywhere.
Been stripped back to the bones and soaked for a long period to get under the grease before cleaning with the good old wire wool.

Try covering shelves with aluminium(or as in the U S of A Aloominum). or using the baking bags to cook your roast in.

Personally as there is only the two of us , I use my halogen oven, that way I can take the glass bowl to the sink and give it a soapy wash.Job done !:yay:

I wipe my ovens down after every use and wash the racks.

As we entertain a lot there isn't usually any time to do that until the following day. So the following day I put a roasting dish full of hot water in the oven, put the oven on high for 10 minutes, turn it off and leave until cool enough to work in but make sure the inside is still steamed up a bit. Then it's easy to clean.

My cooker is about 8 years old, is used every day to cook between 2 and 30 meals and looks (almost) spotless. :dbgrtmb:

You'll have to send for takeaways - that way you can keep a clean oven!

Have a self cleaning oven. Just push a few buttons, and the oven door locks for about 4 hours. When done, it self unlocks. All I need is a damp sponge to wipe up the little ash debre. Easy.

Redstar, does the roof of the oven clean itself properly? Self cleaning ovens are notorious for problems with the roof.

We restrict oven usage to 'baking days', when we only use the oven to batch cook/freeze starting in the early hours whilst still on Economy 7 to minimise electricity consumption.

I don't use our ovens every day but the cooker is in constant use. The whole range is gas (my preferred cooking medium) and we have just one rate we are charged.
