I don't want to be controversial but aren't we all citizens of the world? Look what Barack Obama has done for tolerance and unity in America. I'm not keen on being ruled by a Quango hundreds od miles away but perhaps we should be proud to be born free and human.

The two aren`t mutually exclusive Chris, but I`ll reserve judgement on Obama when he has been in power for a bit longer than a week, at present he is a media myth.

 

What is your damn problem, you Englanders? You are so busy whining you don't understand that the world at large (beginning fromme :D) generally *adores* England. I mean it wholeheartedly.

 

The trouble is Ivory we are big softies and everyone is taking advantage. We are not saying we are not admired, just being exploited at the moment. We are not coping to well with the influx of immagrants on the likes of the NHS. I'm sure we will get wise eventually but a little to late. We need to take leaf out of the books of Austrailia and America and get a little bit more choosy who we allow to live here. I dont mean that to sound heartless, but just practical. 02

Ahhh, but that is the difference, if the English demonstrate they get arrested, in France the police stand by and watch.

I think Russia is a freer country than England these days, cops everywhere, just itching for an easy touch.
