Always remember one of the rare occasions the music teacher took the full school assemby.

He started off by asking the school, who was the greatest man that ever lived?

A girl from his class put her hand up and answered "Louie Armstrong?"

The answer he'd been looking for was Jesus.

I have never seen a tobacco crop before , thanks Redstar  I presume that is Virginian type tobacco which is smoked in the UK . Turkey also grows a lot of tobacco , but they tend to smoke American and UK cigarettes. They say Turkish tobacco is for the Syrians and Iraqies ! So why don't they grow a Virginian type of tobacco in Turkey

The Marlborough they smoke are made in Turkey, as there is a 100% import tax. Can't smoke yanky Marlborough, too many chemicals.

Didn't mind the Turkish ones though.

My picture, of the tabacco field are one of huge many around here. Mostly it is the Amish that grow this crop, and they build tabacco drying barns for it. The barn is made with this long slats that push open to cause a gentle venting of the leaves that are hung in bundles inside.
I really don't notice too many Amish farmers smoking cigs. but do notice pipes.

You will of course on shredding the leaves after curing.... weigh them and send the figures to the Customs & Excise who will be only too pleased to invoice you the full tax amount.

That's what they expect us to do since a new EEC directive came out a few years back...Yeah right!!

It seems it's not worth their while to chase up every small tobacco grower...so they're asking us to drop ourselves in the **** and pay even more taxes.

Of course, only too willing to treat it as a legitimate business, as long as they will deduct from the tax, costs of seed, nurturing, cultivation @£20 per hour, fertilising, watering and use of home/garden facilities for curing & processing.

They can't have it both ways.

Then send them a letter saying "Your request for Tobacco duty has been refused on account of you not contributing any Job Seekers Allowance in the year ending april 2012."

When I am in Key West, there are some wonderful cigar shops. Also, you can have a fresh rolled one if like.
