Watering ?

    This may seem like a stupid question but I have several shrubs in containers and need to know if they need watering during the winter . Have searched the net but no joy.

    Not really Doug, most things are dormant over winter so don't need much water, they are not transpiring.

    Its usually wet enough in winter anyway.

      Doug, stick your finger in the pot, its much easier than serching the internet, they wont know anyway.:D

      Watering is only required when the plant becomes dry at the roots, so the finger pushed into the compost is the best way to tell.:)
