Because the "random numbers" are generated thirty minutes after the close of purchasing tickets
They have all the numbers purchased, and the generator picks the balls it is told to

There is a time lag between the closing of ticket purchase and the picking of the balls.

Just enough time for a computer to work out which numbers would give the desired amount of winners.
These numbers are then put ito that very expensive piece of equipment that pics the balls.

If not, why not just have an audience in the studio pick out one ball each from a bag??????????

I heard that all the lotteries in the world are all secretly owned by one super powerful family. The numbers that are drawn are actually control codes, embedded into human DNA by the alien race that first modified an ape to produce an obedient slave species called homo sapiens. Twice a week, the latest set of subliminal instructions are broadcast to us, disguised as randomly drawn numbers. Some say, the numbers are actually coordinates in time and space, which direct the enlightened to the point of Origin.

This would explain the woman in Worcester's situation.....

She didn't wash the ticket in her jeans. The washing machine used it's powers to entice the ticket into it's body to be destroyed as it knew it wasn't her time to rise up to the level of enlightenment.
We all know washing machines are a race on their own ruled over by the great Alien God Zanussi.

How did those correct numbers get on to that forged ticket?
                  How did she do that?
                  Just thinking ahead ;).

I think I read somewhere @roders but not too sure that the numbers were for a different week instead of the high rollover week,so she obviously picked the wrong week to use those numbers:snorky:

                        For your information "M"

                        These are the details......

Her name is Susanne Hinte, she's 48, a German national and grandmother of 4.

She's been in court 7 times over the last 6 years over various unpaid fines and has recently appeared in court and received a further fine for not revealing the name of a driver in a car accident.

She's due to stand trial on the 1st of March at Birmingham Magistrates Court after being charged with 2 counts of housebreaking and theft.

She has tried this sort of thing before with a Lottery Scratchboard. She had a scratch card with 2 £200 symbols revealed and claimed that the 3rd symbol and barcode hade been destroyed after she'd dropped the ticket in a puddle....

                        As to Lottery....

From the very start of all this business she wasn't even considered to be a winner as the 5 people at the Lottery headquarters new that the shop she claimed to buy the winning ticket from wasn't even in the right area of the city.

Basically what has happened here is a massive media hype that got its story wrong...... now there's a surprise ! ! !

Presumably she bought the ticket the week after the jackpot draw, used the numbers that she new had already won, and then destroyed the date and barcode so that she could claim to have purchased it the week previous. It makes you wonder how many times that one has been tried over the years.
