@mowgley I am sorry to hear about your loss.

There are in law jokes that do seem to apply in many cases but I too had a wonderful inlaw, a Mother in Law who I didn't see for many years after divorcing her son. When one of my boys was getting married, we , she and I, re-united and I am so grateful for those last years of enjoying her company, good humour, generosity, and reminders of what a true lady is. I have strived to follow her example. And more each time I think of her. These people leave behind a great gift. For if they were loved, they were irreplaceable influences on our lives. And you now carry a valuable piece of him in your heart.

    Heartfelt hugs.

    Lori

forgot to mention, she was a war bride from Croydon..

Very bright here, the sunshine is beautiful, the wind is strong there's certainly a nip in the air.

Count yourself lucky as regards storms...we have already passed the letter "T" here...:)

8C, southerly wind, and the geese are flying due west....not a good sign.

Hi @Sandy Ground I was born lucky my friend ,I am an eternal optimist even on a not so good day ,its something I inherited;) and if you have passed T(Tegan) then you are extremely fortunate, that means that you only have V(Vernon) to go,then your finished for this year:smile:

Which way should they be going?

That's 9 named storms and they only started naming them from November!

It has been (just) windy here and it has just started raining but the storm will soon be here and in for 24 hours with more 60/70mph gales again according to the forecast.

The plus side is that they bring milder air here and I have hardly needed the greenhouse heater on.

East if we were going to have good weather, so it looks as if its going to be a case of..."snow dig"

Shouldn't all the storms be named after women?

I mean, there are similarities -- all wet and blowy when they arrive, and when they leave they take half the house with them.......

I hope your nest is secured well for tonight @wiseowl, take care! :)

We started the day with sunshine but the weather gradually turned and from early afternoon the wind picked up, accompanied by a few heavy showers. 7C/45F.

The weather looks as if it will improve tomorrow right through to next weekend.
