It's been mostly cloudy with the odd glimpse of sunshine today, there's also been an air frost hanging over the hills all day, 6C/43F. A chilly one tonight I think, but nothing on Lori's scale. :)

Crisp morning, light, not overly bright, bit cloudy on and off, but .... dry!

Another cold day with temperatures in the middle 30f's. The skies have had lots of blue in them but also a mixture of high, thin, veils of cloud along with lower "trains" of grey cottony clouds. I got the Observatory ready again today just in case the skies cleared properly by tonight................but having just looked it isn't good:wallbanging:
There's still plenty of clouds in the skies but I can see one or two Stars. The problem is, apart from the clouds, is that the Stars are really twinkling and that is not a good indication that they can been seen clearly. The twinkling is cause by turbulence in the Earth's atmosphere which, while looking lovely, is distortion of the light.......not good for astronomy.:dunno::snorky:

You must really dislike that children's tune, twinkle twinkle little star.. :heehee:

Actually, I did not know that is why they seem to twinkle. Guess I'll pay more attention the next clear night we have.

Still very cold but the skies are not too cloudy. We're going down to -9f/-22c tonight. Using up one more day of winter and soon we'll run out of them

And with the sun, the greenhouse will get up to a toasty 40f which means I can go out there and comfortably start organizing some of the newer wiring.:)

A mixture of sun and cloud again today with a chilly breeze blowing. It felt even colder whilst watching my young granddaughter on her second horse riding lesson, brrrr! 5C/41F.

Oh the joys of watching our beloveds on ponies/horses @Sheal. I spent nearly 20 years doing that and surprised I didn't get frost bite on occasions!
We've had a couple of inches of snow and it's -2 atm. Wood burning stove is doing sterling work keeping us cosy. Took the photo at about 4pm there might be more by now. IMG_0428.JPG

I don't intend spending twenty years doing that @silu. :heehee: This was the second of five lessons pre-booked and to be honest I don't think she'll go beyond the five, I think boredom will set in. She is five years old and prefers to occupy her brain not her body. :)

The only consolation with snow is - it makes everything look clean and tidy!

Definitely don't encourage the riding lessons, I was young, wrinkle free and had a few bob in the bank before I stupidly put child on some hairy little arrangement that didn't have brakes and dodgy steering:). Ended up moving house twice to accommodate riding ambitions and had to learn at not a young age how to drive a flaming horsebox! Agree @Sheal, snow covers a multitude of weeds and yet to be pruned down old Herbaceous growth.

Constant high cloud thick enough to make the Sun into a dim globe all day. There was a fairly strong breeze that didn't help raise the temperature of 39f. There's still cloud out there and the temperature is 32f with a pressure reading of 991mbs, and my Garden Weather Station is forecasting rain/snow in the next 12 hours.:dunno::coffee:

We've been promised frost Armandii but no snow, even though the wind direction has changed. Mind you, that happened three years ago at Easter and look what we got......

                                Yesterday was dull and damp.

This morning looks to be dry and bright, but cold.
