Hi folks, new to gardening properly, Iv planted the odd thing here and there but nothing to ever be proud of.
Since moving to our new home it has become some sort of itching passion to get out and transform our overgrown garden into a place we can love and enjoy..
this years plan is to build the picture I have in my head into our garden, it's going to be a lot of work but I can't wait to get started

    Paul...

            :sign0016: to GC @Nellybobs :)

Glad you popped by and hope you stop a while.

Now, about that picture in your head ... how would you describe it in words? Are you hoping to build a tropical style garden; a fruit and veg garden; a cottage garden haven; a mixture of those and then some? Or maybe a more contemporary style is more to your liking?

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans and getting to know you around the forum

Well to describe the garden at present would be to call it a sloping square grass patch! I would post a picture but Iv not got enough likes yet (if anyone wants to help with that feel free)

My plans are to create a large section of lawn so my little 4 month old boy can play when he's older. I have built a large 10x4 metre deck at the back of the house and I want that to lead to the lawn which will be square in shape with raised flowerbeds to one side, the other side of the lawn will be a slightly sloping path (following the current gradient of the garden) to the rear where I am going to dig down a couple of foot and have the bottom 10 foot of garden along the rear perimeter for a greenhouse and raised beds for fruit and veg, probably going along the square foot gardening route.
Firstly I need to rip up the garden as it is and start from scratch.. Iv posted a thread in the 'New Gardener' section for help in doing so

I used to live in Cheadle!.. Spent most of my youth in Cheadle Hulme :) I love the place and many many amazing memories..
Unfortunately house prices are a bit on the steep side so I moved to Stalybridge a couple of years ago!
Still a great place here and we are quite a way out in the hills so I wake up to rolling hills out the front and a vista of the northwest out the back ;)
