Strawberries and critters eating them

    I thought I'd ask for some help with a wee issue I had last year.

    Last year, from 30 strawberry plants, I got 10 strawberries. The rest were munched, I think by Slater's(wood live).

    The strawberries all had great holes in the undersides full of the Beastie's so I'm assuming it's them.

    Wondering if planting them in those raised pots would help?

    Best to get them off the soil, did you use straw last year?

    this is my first year with strawb,s . i/ve planted them in flower pots in polytunnel for.now.. i plan to put them in garden still in pots but stood on weed fabric when weather picks up. just trial and error for me. CHEERS WRINKLY 1

    I have this problem, I reckon it's tiny slugs that make the hole and cheesybobs (wood lice :)) follow in. As I understand it woodlice only go for decaying plant material. So you need to hunt down those slugs or as we did last year pick the fruit slightly under-ripe and ripen them on a windowsill.
