I bought two of these plants in Homebase a couple of weeks ago. They are growing soooooo well and are really healthy. Starting to flower too. I have just re potted them. I can't find any info about them. They do need staking and seem to be putting out a huge root system but I don't know whether they are bush tomatoes or whether to nip out the side shoots:help:

I had one of these plants last year. It was an upright and needed staking and side shoots removing. It was very successful and the best/easiest tomator plant I have grown and very tasty. I have been given a couple of 'normal' tomatoes plants this year but may go and get a mini italian plum as it was so very successful. Good Luck!

It is difficult to answer without knowing the variety. Most plum tomatoes are bush tomatoes and therefore do not grow too high. A lot of them don't need the side shoots taken out but many professional Italian growers remove some of the side shoots and pot them on as new plants.

Generally the mini-plums tend to bush nicely, stay short and don't need the side shoots taken out but if you are getting a lot of them you should do so.
