What's your weather - 2016

A cold day with the temperature only at 39f with a mixture of cloud and blue patches in the skies. There was a promise by the Weather Forecasters of a clear cold night tonight, but it's only just clearing now, having said that the Stars are out and the Two Dogs are in the skies to the South and it looks like a good night, and the only night for the next week, for observing. So it's warm jack and thermal boots on, kettle ready, and I'll be back later. Right now the temperature is 31f and the pressure reading is 1005mbs.

 

Guess what?, after 30 minutes of clear skies the clouds have rolled back in!!

 

It's lovely and sunny this morning but it isn't, yet, clearing the light covering of frozen snow.

I've checked back on ShineyLand records and the last significant snowfalls (covering everything and staying all day) for March and April were in 2008 -

March 23rd




and April 6th



with the occasional funny sight as the snow cleared

 

A better, brighter, blue skies day today although the temperature never got up above 42f. Last night the clouds disappeared for a couple of hours around midnight, so I finally managed some Star staring until around 2am when the clouds came back. So tonight the skies are really clear and the seeing is good so it's another late night/early morning Right now the temperature is 32f and the pressure reading is 1015mbs.

 

Yesterday was bright and sunny with a touch of frozen snow around.

Today is frosty 26.4F and bright but not sure whether the sun will come out to play.
