I forgot to mention also using my Scorpion saw with a metal cutting blade, far more efficient than a padsaw (ideal for separating rusty bolted/screwed together timbers) and that my main use of a hacksaw these days is virtually restricted to cutting bamboo canes as they're the best tool for that job.

My hacksaw (and whizzer, = angle grinder) seems to cut skin well also, especially on my fingers! :rolleyespink:

A power planer is far more efficient for finger reduction and much less painful than a hacksaw.

I use a fine toothed tenon saw or dovetail saw for carefully hand cutting uPVC and Perspex.

I have one of those - it is about the only tool that I seem to have a fear of. Don't know why - guess it's the sparks flying about that frighten me.

I have various hacksaws but my best tool is a, black and decker power file. Great for where room is limited and shifting wood or metal, I can be very intricate and creative with mine

The Stanley 5 in 1 hacksaw arrived at work on Friday . Lovely bit of kit , a real man toy ! Nice and heavy and very comfortable . Everyone else was impressed so three more are being ordered this week ! Only one thing I have nothing to cut with it at the moment :dunno:

Mind your fingers then, or it'll be a 6 in 1

Have respect and caution using any power tool Lori, being in the building trade I've seen all kind of accidents involving various tools, my pal cut three fingers off using a flip saw same as the one ive posted up.
