oak tree

I was just watching a programme about an oak tree and they were saying about a computer programme able to count how many leaves are on the tree (an approximate figure, I expect) when in full "bloom". Can you guess?

 

It would help if you told us something about the tree..... Size, height, age etc and do you mean " in full leaf " ?

 

I don't have all these details, it looked like a fully grown established tree in spring or summer, not the season when the leaves fall...

 

anyway, the answer is: 700,000

 

More impressive is how many gallons of water a full grown tree sucks up each day.

But I cant remember

 

"A mature oak tree can draw up to 50 or more gallons of water per day"
