Anyone can scrub up a car body to make it presentable. Its what's going on underneath that matters. I bought a very presentable R reg Vauxhall Vectra once. I thought I'd got myself a bargain, until: The window mechanism failed and wouldn't close the window, a wishbone failed (part of the suspension/steering), something expensive in the back suspension failed, brakes were nasty and needed to be replaced, fan failed, engine mount broke, engine pre-heat system failed (no start in winter without a massive mains powered battery booster), and then when I sold it to my mate for £50 for him to do it up (he is a mechanic), the day I dropped it off the passenger side window fell out when he opened the door to look inside the car. That's why I won't buy a car off someone I can't easily go back to if it drops to bits. Oh and all that happened in less than a year:)

I can see the problem you and your neighbours are having. Somet needs to be done, but the question is what exactly. The coppers will send you to the council, and the council don't exactly rush themselves.

You could anonymously write to your neighbours and ask them to complain to the police and/or council too. By sending anonymous letters, nobody need know it was you that did it, and if any of your neighbours comment, just say you got a letter too. The point is while it is just one person complaining, there is no pressure on the council, but if several neighbours complain about the same issue, then maybe they might hurry themselves up.

As it seems he is a bit on the arrogant and inconsiderate side, maybe a call to the tax office might help. He is clearly running a business, so I wonder if his tax returns are in order.

If it were me being blocked in as long as yove got something powerfull id tow one of the cars out the way, either that or carpet tacks under the wheels.

A year or so back someone parked blocking the entrance of my house I stuck the chain on it and pulled it out the way aginst the hand brake with my truck in low box leaving it 30' up the road.

when the person came to collect it the brakes had locked on from being towed!!! so they had to get recovery, being as theyd parked illegally they couldnt do anything to complain either.

Thoughts like that had crossed my mind, but I'm not sure I'd recommend that course of action.

I once got well and truly boxed in by an inconsiderate neighbour who seemed to have it in for me for some unknown reason. Every time I'd park my car, I'd go back for it and the same car every time would be two inches from my bumper. If I was lucky I could inch my car back and forth to get out, but one day I'd decided I'd had enough. My car was bigger, heavier, and older than theirs, and my car wasn't worth much, so I just drove out regardless. First gear, lots of revs, full lock right, clutch up and go. I definately saw the other car move, but I don't know if I did any damage. I do know that funnily enough I never got boxed in again by that same car.

pro gard i dont live on the same side as him i live opposite him were you can see the pale blue rover thats my guzzler hehe, but it annoys me when he decides to park on our side and parking that van at his neighbours who is disabled, that lady must get annoyed by all this, hes got cars all over different streets in this area for sale.
i dont think i could put tacks under someones wheels as i wouldnt like it done to my car mind you do think of things when people like this annoy you so much

I rekon the police or councill would be intrested in the blocking of the disabled bays, perhaps a call to the local paper mentioning car parking aswell.

pro gard, my other neighbour on my side has a disabled bay and someone parked in theirs and they came back and couldnt get parked, so she called the council and they wouldnt do a thing nor would the police so i cant see why the council give disabled people there own spots and they have there house number on them aswell, i wouldnt park on anyones disabled bay but i guess everyones not like me

Im amazed by that, our councill do deal with disabled parking space abuse and so does the local traffic warden. In fact the traffic warden actualy gave me her mobile number so I could ring if I see any!

Rosa, you must have the most lax council and traffic wardens in England! I too am amazed that they won't take any action.

Rosa,it is a pity that all his cars are not clamped by oe of those firms. It would cost him a fortune to have them all released:hehe:

Our local radio station has a consumer spot and when there are problems like this the radio presenter soon gets it sorted when people phone in to complain. It doesn't go on for as long as it does up your way:D
