    Hi

I have grown Palermo cucumbers from seed and everything has been ok until recently.I repotted the cucumbers when they became too big for their 3 inch pots. they have now developed brown spots on the lower leaves and one plant wilted altogether. I have been careful when watering. I have tried to up load a photo but have not been able to.
    Hoping someone can help

Its difficult to tell what the brown spots might be without a photo, it could be sun scorch - I've been recording very high temps in my greenhouse/coldframe when the sun pops out this last week. It is very easy to loose cuc seedlings in their young tender stage, make sure you only handle them by their seed leaves - don't touch the stems, no matter how gently, they will bruise and collapse. Also don't bury them any deeper when repotting even if they are long and spindly.

Thanks for that I have just worked out how to up load a picture which I have included in this reply. I hope that will make things easier to identify my cucumber problem.

    Many Thanks

Hmmm ... looks like Cucumber Mosaic Virus (which would be really bad :( ) or perhaps Verticillium Wilt (in which case I believe there should be brown streaks inside the plant stems) - I think the plant may be able to grow out of this, my book says to keep the plant at 75F for two weeks - perhaps that kills the infection?

Or I suppose it could be Magnesium deficiency - but I would be surprised you would get that this early, assuming the plant is in shop-bought compost? (Spray with Epsom salts, or a foliar feed containing Magnseium)
