    This is from a tree round the corner from us, fruit starting to fall off the tree now.

    Initially, I wondered if it was some sort of cherry, but it is really quite a hard fruit - any ideas?

            I found a wine recipe, but it suggested that it would require fermentation of 12-24 months? They do seem like quite a dry fruit right enough
