Been raining here for a while, but nothing outstanding - sounds as though it is livening up a wee bit now however. It will all be over by morning.

That's a Fly Agaric. The toadstool that strangely seems to always show up in fairy tales, usually in the same story as very bizarre sightings and events. Nothing to do with its potent hallucinogenic properties I'm sure.

Zigs won't be needing any by the sound of it. There's a chance he might really fly away to a magical land if the storm is strong enough to lift his van.

The sun is trying to break through at the moment so I'm cheering it on and giving it lots of encouragement: come on, Sun, you can do it!

Quite uneventful here - a lot of rain and a bit of wind, but nothing that I would have said was all that out of the ordinary. Hope everyone in the affected areas are OK

Just seen a patch of blue sky:biggrin:

27mm of rain overnight, and it was windy, but nothing exceptional, been mostly cloudy all day but the wind has dropped to just a light breeze.

Just heard that Tarr Steps down n Exmoor has been washed away again so looks like some work will be needed to rebuild it before the tourist season starts:sad:

We got away lightly where I live in the Midlands as apart from a little rain this morning the wind has died down quiet a bit although it has felt chilly all day:snorky:

The storm has finally passed through. Started blowing hard at 4am, heavy rain at 6am, dangerous winds from 8am - noon (branches and some trees down, blocking roads, footpaths, etc, and lots of emergency vehicle activity). By 4pm just the occasional strong gust, and a little sunshine breaking through before sunset.

The garden looks fine, apart from being full of leaves from the other side of the valley!!

Second phase has not long started here - looking at the rain radar, it looks like localised flooding is the biggest concern for us in the morning.
