      Over not through, the only time i could part water like that was with a 44 tonner going through a bit of water on the road and not to spash anyone as some do

                I wouldn't be without one nowadays - the behaviour on the roads is utterly appalling, with cars, vans, cyclists and pedestrians all being equally as bad as each other.

                Those E-Prance ones are pretty good for the money @Jiffy, but bear in mind that more often than not they don't come with an SD card so that will be an added cost. this is the one I have which comes with everything you need for £69, and the quality is excellent.

                There is a guy on YouTube - Techmoan - who does excellent videos on the various cameras available, and lets you see the sort of quality you can expect from them.

                  Possibly to transfer/view the recordings to your pc?? I just take the card out, and insert it in the laptop. :)

                  I wouldn't be without mine either. Only last night in MK I nearly ran a small boy over twice (and his dad once). He was running around in a car park in the dark, with mum and dad shouting at him and chasing him. He ran across in front of the car, so I stopped. When I pulled away, dad stepped out. Then I pulled away again, as the boy ran back across the front. Nightmare. It was lucky I was driving very slowly.

                    Yes, the wifi is to allow you to download wirelessly to a laptop or a mobile phone.

                    As for a card reader, I can highly recommend this one - - really well put together, and works perfectly.

                      I don't think they are dash cams, but I 'think' Aldi are selling 4k recorders for less than £40 this week. Card included. It might just be the Northampton store .

                      Edit: £49.99, wifi, 32gb card, 3 year warranty, 2" display 960x240 pix res.
                      As mentioned, not a dash cam, but some of you may still be interested. Its called an Action cam. Looks like they are on sale in Northampton from Sun 27th Nov 2016.

                        Now it's time to start comparing dash cams :snorky: the bit that gets me, that on amazon there looks like there is one dash cam under lots of different names/colours, it looks the same but has differents reviews :thud:

                          Wouldn't it be best to have two cams, one to view forward and one to view backwards?

                          I'd also have to get extra equipment if I got one as I don't have a mobile phone or wifi capable laptop or even a card reader in my desktop. :old: :heehee:
