Orchid Help Please

I have been growing this Orchid for a while now, I did post in another thread but as I didn't get any answers I think it may have been the wrong one.
I posted that the new growths were coming up and didn't know what to do, but now I have loads of shoots coming up so i was wondering do I just clip them up? What do I do with the original stalks, as one of the three has some more buds ready to flower.
Do I replant in a bigger pot?

You appear to be tying the aerial roots to a cane ?

Just leave them to do their own thing.
Flower stems come from within the rosette of leaves.

It appears to be growing well so just carry on with what you have been doing.
Be careful not to over water during the winter.

 

Thankyou, I will remove them then, I didn't want to ruin the plant. I will carry as you say, my friend said to water it once a fortnight with some rain water, so I will carry on as you said

NOOOOO dont remove the roots

Just dont bother tying them up.

Water once it has dried out, not once a fortnight.
When you water let it soak for an hour then drain, dont water again until the compost it dry, push a finger down in the side of the pot, if its still damp, dont water.

 

As pete says just undo the ties and let the aerial roots do their own thing.In the countries where they grow naturally on trees they use the roots to hold themselves on to the trees.It is nursery people that have forced them into pots.

I grow mine in those see through(clear) pots and then drop the flower pot into ceramic pots similar to yours but mine are usually the round sort.When I water,I usually use warm tap water because the water I collect in my water butts normally have other tiny things floating around in them that I don't want contaminating my orchids.I let the water flow though the flower pot until I see the aerial roots are wet looking,then I leave them to drain before putting them back into their ornamental pots.

Hi everyone,

I am new in the forum. I would like to ask you few questions about some plants. As I am working at a cleaning company once in a while we need to take care of some indoor plants when we visit our customers. Could you please tell me what is the best way to clean the leaves of orchids? Is it just with water or there is a specific detergent? Thank you in advance

Not sure about orchids but I used to use milk on my rubber plant.

 

I'd just use water.
Never really liked any kinds of leaf shine.
