Last night we went out and the car thermometer said it was -1C and there was a mist.

Two hours later it was zero and very thick fog. :yikes: It took us an hour to drive the 11 miles home on winding country roads. I could only see my side of the road but not the other side.

I gradually caught up to someone ahead and let him take the strain of the drive. After a couple of miles he pulled over, let me by and moved in behind. We continued to swap places every couple of miles, which made the driving so much easier. :dbgrtmb: He/she turned off a mile before I got home.

    Fog is clearing now.

Some odd things going on regarding the weather recently.
First, its quite unusual for us to get out of a cold spell at this time of year without rain, just a temperature rise and some fog.
Secondly, there appears to be a cold front straddling the country and its warmer behind the cold front than it is in front.:smile:

After yesterday's heavy frost and -2C/28F dusk brought us freezing fog. Again this morning everything had a heavy white coating but it was gone by early afternoon with a temperature rise to -1C/30F. From there on grey clouds gathered and a steady drizzle moved in.

Another dull, grey, cloud covered skies day, very little breeze, and a top temperature of 49f. Right now the temperature is 46f and the pressure reading is 1037mbs. The forecast seems to be for unsettled weather for the next 10 days or so.:dunno::doh::snorky:

More of the gloom to come @ARMANDII. I was looking at the jet stream earlier and that backs up what you have said.

I didn't get home until dark had fallen but my Garden Weather Station had recorded 56f as the top temperature and no rain. So, it being so mild, I made a mug of tea and sat in the Arbour in the dark listening to the rustlings and noises in the garden. So the skies are cloudy, the temperature now is 52f and the pressure reading is 1043mbs.:coffee::snork::snorky:

A slight change in the weather today. Some sunshine but mostly cloudy with a fresh wind thrown in for good measure. The temperature has swung the other way at 12C/54F.
