Chipolata sausages, wrapped in streaky bacon (no need to par cook the sausages) and "secured" with a cocktail stick if you wish.

Chipolata sausages are the thin ones, but long; so, to make them shorter (and if they are proper butchers sausages) just twist them in the middle so the "skin" makes a tighten twist, then cut through the middle of that "twist"= two smaller sausages :blue thumb:
For the streaky bacon, remove any rind and then run the back of a knife along the length of each rasher before wrapping it around your "pig".
Secure with a cocktail stick if you prefer. I do not; but I do chill them after wrapping and once they are taken from the 'fridge to the hot oven they don't tend to unroll.
They don't take too long to bake in the oven but are far better eaten hot rather than cold. So, despite your sisters oven being full, there should still be time to bake them between the turkey/joint coming out to rest and the dinner being served.

I don't use bacon. Use mini sausages, and Pillsbury dough boy in a can, the one that show a triangle shapes when you pop open the can. then easy, roll the sausage with the triangle and bake. serve it with a top notch mustard.

                Do cats in blankets qualify?

Sarafi is not our cat but thinks he owns our place! He's not allowed indoors but sometimes manages to creep in. We went into our summerhouse one day and there he was!

Pigs in Blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon.

Sausages wrapped in pastry are Sausage Rolls.

google only shows sausages wrapped in pastry as pigs in a blanket.

sausage wrapped in bacon, is called "sausage wrapped in bacon".

Each country would have its own Google version . At work our servers are based in Holland , so I always get the Dutch Google when searching . I would need to search for "mini worstenbroodjes" :snork:

Time to wheel out one of my favourite quotes.

'It is written, therefore it is true'.

that is a shame Google is different in each country. would be nice if it shows differences in the meanings in different countries for food items.

That's why we had the other thread to try and explain differences :blue thumb: :) Even something as apparently simple as chips.

Just a few others:- pants, pavement, boot, fanny :heehee:
