Perhaps you should think about relocating Armandii.

If I was ever going to move, Sheal, it would have been to Rutland as, for me, that is a most magical county.:snorky: But, despite the Atlantic weather that rolls in from the West bringing relentless armies of cloud, I prefer Cheshire with it's Woods and Mere's.

I have already suggested that he move his observatory to Shineyland :blue thumb: :)

Clear skies again last night - the sixth in the last eight days. :dbgrtmb:

It's been very settled for the last week or so - dry, crisp, sunny days (9ÂșC max) and frosty nights.

Lovely photo @ARMANDII, you're probably wise to stay put and you probably couldn't bear the thought of dismantling the observatory now. Shiney's was a good offer though. :)

A dark, dismal day with intermittent drizzle but warmish for the middle of December at 10C/50F.

No, not Scotland below. :) Cypress Mountain, British Columbia, Canada where my daughter was ski-ing on Monday, her day off work.

              So much better than rain!

Alternating sun and cloud today and after a chilly start the temperature picked up to 8C/46F.

The temperature "zoomed" up to 52f in the afternoon even though we had the inevitable cloud covered skies. Again, there has been no breeze today and has stayed dry until now. A quick look outside just now shows that it's raining and my two Cats have decided to enjoy the comfort on the armchairs rather than get wet.:cat-kittyandsmiley:
Right now the temperature is 45f and the pressure reading is 1033mbs. The forecast is for the possibility of a clear night on Saturday and then.............cloud and more cloud for next week.:gaah::doh::heehee:

I've already started clearing a section of that area for you. :dbgrtmb:

We shall be removing some of the Lychnis and some of the Stachys and may pot them up for Open Day.

That's El Caracol :dbgrtmb:, the 'observatory' at Chichen Itza. They didn't have a telescope there :heehee: but it was used to observe Venus.

I know you'll find it hard to believe but even I am not old enough to have been there when they built it (about 1,500 years ago). :old:

It's not quite at its best now but has lasted fairly well. The inside is not safe to go in.

                              224_2484.JPG

It doesn't look quite so much of a ruin from the side.

                              224_2494.JPG

Although, close up, it doesn't look at its best.

Some of the buildings are in better condition as they have been restoring some of them.

and they are trying to classify this as one of the 'modern' wonders of the world.

We are expecting a veritable heat wave. The temps are expected to rise up to 20f or a little better.
Lots of snow on the ground. Bird feeder is quite busy :)
