    Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what the pest in the picture is and how to remove them. I've been battling them on my strawberry plants for a while now...

They generally cluster at the base of the leaf and underneath the leaf itself. They are a dark red colour with a hint of brown.

I have them on a number of the plants but I guess they don't travel well as they tend to cluster heavily on particular plants rather than lightly over all of them... I have consequently separated the pots as much as possible but can't seem to get them off the plants they are on...

I'm not sure if they are harming the plant... At first I thought they were causing the leaves to drop prematurely but that could have just been the cold...

    Any advice is appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Daniel

    Brilliant!

Thank you very much guys and gals.

Will the washing up liquid be safe on the strawberry plant? I guess it can't be worse than the pesticide i've been using!

Has anyone tried buying lady bird eggs before?

    Cheers,

If you've tried a pesticide on them and its not worked I'm a bit surprised.

I find aphids are about the easiest pest to kill.

    Soapy water?:skp:

I dont think that's cleared as a pesticide in the EC, is it?:D

:idea:You could always use 'Ecover' washing up liquid which is made from natural ingredients.
