Just a quick note to let you all know that I am not missing in action, nor locked in the stationary cupboard in the GC office.

It is that time of year when I turn my attention to the TV, and snooker - so my visits will be brief and irregular until next week.

When I was at school, there were rumours about a male English teacher, and female one, and the stationary cupboard.

This happened at my comp. Except it was the Maths teacher, she got pregnant with the other Maths teacher...straight after having a child with her Husband. Ooops!
Also, the Physics teachers. A young lady (who used to be a pupil) copped off with my physics teacher shortly after his wife died. He was about 40 years older than her and used to teach her. It was major gossip when you were 14/15 years old :snork:

I have played snooker since bunking off school when I was 15 to go down the "ball hall". I played at the catholic club every Saturday afternoon, then moved on to the British Legion club. Tonight went to the snooker club in Standish near where I live . So 51 years of regular snooker and I still play bl**dy :poo: !!!! :snorky:

Well, so far it has been an excellent display of talent from all players - particularly so Joe Perry, Marco Fu and Barry Hawkins. Also really nice to see sport in the true sense of the word, where the participants are friendly, respectful and play by the rules to the point where they declare their own foul shots even if nobody else has noticed.

The fly in the ointment for me remains Ronnie O'Sullivan - fantastically talented player, but his attitude stinks and he rarely comes across as a nice guy.

I have to pop out shopping this morning, then it will be home brew and shouting at the telly again for the semi-finals today :)

Well, the semi-final between Joe Perry and Barry Hawkins was one of the best snooker matches I have seen in a very long time - indeed, there was a lot of excellent snooker skills demonstrated throughout the whole tournament which was very enjoyable. The downside for me is that Ronnie O'Sullivan won - hell of a talented guy, but I just cannot get past his attitude and demeanour.
