Im wanting to brighten up my decked patio wth a mature orange tree and a lemon one too,im told they are low maintenance, hardy down to -10degrees and happy to grow in a large pot for a number of years, these are 2yr old trees on sale locally at £39.99 about 1.5m high, look very green and smell lovely, also spied a lime tree, the aroma was beautiful.

If i purchase, what do i need to be wary of with these type of trees?the local garden centre said they are easy to maintain

    comments much appreciated

    thanks

Only SOME of the varieties are relatively hardy - so I would double check that bit independently.

Low maintenance and hardy down to minus 10?

Sounds a bit like stretching the truth to me.:skp:

Go back to that garden centre in a month or so and check out any plants they have left, I virtually guarantee that they will be in the reduced area and almost leafless.

I definitely dont class them as easy to grow, and the minus 10 bit is total hogwash in my opinion.:skp:

But dont let me put you off though.:D
