What I don't understand is this.

In the UK at few years ago, Tony Bliar ignored the rule of war and took us to war with Iraq, a country that had not even threatened us. He rejected calls to get parliamentary approval and justified doing so with an elaborate pack of lies, most well known of which being the 45 minute deployment time for weapons of mass destruction.

Bliar was quite effectively discredited and disowned by the nation, to the extent that when news broke that he'd been nominated for a Nobel peace prize, a massive public campaign threatened to drag down the whole Nobel committee unless they withdrew their nomination.

A few years later, the US has win itself a similar grade of self interested liar, but instead of asking questions, they worship him. I've just seen a post on bookface that someone has shared from Trump's account. Reading the comments in there, it's almost like the rise of the nazi party. Thousands of people, as I skim through the comments, are not only supporting him, but spewing unsolicited and irrational hatred towards anyone Trump has told them to distrust. It makes feel embarrassed to he the same species as these morons.

Did anyone elect Mussolini though? And did thousands publicly support him even when they didn't have to?

imagine the 9 million are not trying to green card it, and take money from that government without producing some valued job. Or we certainly would hear about "the poor American's needing funding" . Not like the 600 from mexico that want financial aide.

          I saw a documentary a while ago.

The people of 1930s Germany were fed similar propaganda.

Imagine we had a land border with Europe, think of what goes on at Eurotunnel in Calais, walls fences, barbed wire.
Why the french allow it is beyond me, they want shot of the crowds waiting there, in what used to be called the "jungle", just as much as we do.
Yes we all have a right to defend our borders the difference is we dont have 2000miles of it to defend just a few beaches and ports.

I'd also guess a fair proportion of those 9 million did it by legal means.;)
Which kind of makes a big difference in my opinion.

Yep. Building a wall along the Mexican border is going to keep all the Muslims out. And banning entry even for residents will surely keep the Mexicans out.

Its all about controlling your borders, full stop.
You dont fill one gap and leave others wide open.
Along the line there will be casualties, but maybe that is because it should have happened a long time ago.

Nothing directly to do with the situation in question but quoting numbers always brings pictures into my mind.

If 600 people try to get through a border and are stopped, and the reports say that there are about 600 per day that are being stopped, it brings to mind that it may be the same 600 every day :dunno: . Otherwise, what has happened to the first 600?

There is probably lots of different reasons. A military person could have discovered an area they love to live in, and when DONE with military stayed. Or fell in love with a citizen from "abroad" and stayed. My own brother-in-law married a polish women, he is moving there to stay. Students go to college "abroad" and stay, people get jobs there, stay, or just the experience. If your an artist, its good to study artist in some place "abroad". on and on. The bottom line is to "legally" apply to respect the application process of that area etc, and to contribute to society of that area.
