A colleague of mine is a bit of an amateur forecaster (very good at it he is too), and he mentioned that the weather could be very unpredictable this week, with the possibility of rain and/or snow. Apparently the way that two weather systems are coming together makes it difficult to predict though.

Very similar here (take note the barsteward who withdrew the Winter Fuel Allowance). 50mm of rain in two days, 60mph gales and back to freezing next week. Still, we hardy Brits won't be budged from sipping our glasses of wine at the poolside...:Wino::whistle:;)

We get a month's worth of rain in a day at least once a month these days I reckon.

Maybe it's time to recalculate the averages.

Well good to see this is all based on a Sun prediction . The Wigan savannas weekly prediction is 0.4mm of rain and Min night temp of 1 . Pretty good for early Feb :hapydancsmil::blue thumb:

My mom still gets Winter Fuel Allowance. Every December she gets £300 as she lives on her own. If there are two in the house you would get £150 each , as she and my dad used to get.

It'll come one day, pete....unless they include the average temperatures for, say, the Virgin islands in your temperature calculation. :th scifD36:

Yes indeed...as do ex-pats living in Italy and (I think) Greece. You know, those well known Siberian-climate type countries with, coincidentally, a high proportion of politicians' holiday homes.... Some bright spark had the excellent, money-saving idea of including France's colonies in the West Indies in the average mean winter temperature for the French mainland. A dirty, despicable trick that could only have been dreamt up by a politician or civil-servant insect.
