As you might be aware there's been a drop or two of rain over here, got soaked the other day and left most of my clothes in the tunnel to dry. As this is my first year I do not have much growing in there and it is always well ventilated. My question is are there any reasons why I should not use the tunnel to dry clothes.

    Russ.

Leadbelly,it sounds a very good idea to dry your washing in the tunnel, can't see what harm it would do and you don't need to tell anyone:)As long as you don't have any nasty chemicals dripping all over the plants then no harm should be done.

I very rarely use my tumble drier and the last time I did I forgot all about the washing in there until some weeks later because it is at the back of the garage in the dark:pI always try to dry mine outside because I am old fashioned and like the wind on it,failing that I put up my airing racks in the conservatory and hang it up in there with the windows open:D

A lady who I used to work with had lines up under her carport and used to dry all her washing under there and never had any problem when it rained:)

Go for it Dee,if you don't have much in the greenhouse and it gets the sun then why not.Love your avatar by the way:thumb:

I get a lot of condensation forming on the top, so it would be damp inside evidence is green forming on the top of my soil, I have the top part of the door open to help with ventilation to no availe.

I have retractable lines in my cellar where I dry my clothes in the winter. I have a small fan going when laundry is hanging to keep the air moving. I dry outside from spring through to fall but I don't have enough room to hang clothes in my little greenhouses.

I'd experiment if I was you. What's the worst could happen? Maybe the clothes don't turn out nice so you wash again and dry elsewhere? :noidea:

I'm looking forward to spring after next as I'm expecting my Drumi to be delivered this later in this coming fall. :hapfeet:

I've still got my vintage Hudson's Bay wool coat - and I don't wear it often as I get too hot in it - they sure knew how to make them!

Top tip here. It will seriously repay to buy a stand alone spin drier as they run at 3000 rpm which is very likely more than twice the speed of your washer spin cycle.

We ran all our guest house towels through the spinner, hung them over night in the boiler room then gave them ten mins in the tumbler to fluff them but obviously that last step is totally optional. Oh and we often got one to two litres of water out of a spin run!
