Dug the rest of the bed over with the old man and painted the inside of the shed, sorted a lot of rubbish out, flowers on strawbs, barb is growing and I got blackcurrant "balls" ..wooop! No pics, forgot my phone.

In other news, I got another bit of poly tunnel, all plots are taken, think my dad has found a new love in digging, even asked for 2 meters of one end of the bed for runner beans and everyone is really friendly up there, got a watering buddy for when I go on hols easter time and in May/June, in return I'm doing her plot when she goes :)

Nor have I, but I've got around 300 galls of storage barrels, and take numerous 5 gall containers (£1 each from car boots, plus I'm now getting empty 4 gall ex-dishwasher detergent and rinse aid containers from a local hotel FOC) every time I visit in during the growing season, plus decant water from rainwater barrels into them after a storm.

In dry summer weather it's easy to use everything from my barrels plus that from a couple of trips carrying 40 galls at a time. I get a lot of satisfaction after watering everything and then topping up every barrel brim full ready for the next session. Nothing worse having to carry water to polytunnels in a thunderstorm!

But your soil looks so nice and easy to cultivate. Even with this warm weather my heavy wet clay wont be ready to start on for another couple of weeks. The paths in between plots still have huge sloppy wet ruts down the middles, and that's just from walking along them, I keep filling the ruts with lumps of clay, weeds, etc., but the middles always revert to ditches.

I do have the ibc tank and 2 of my own water butts to hand too, which reminds me I need to get guttering asap! No houses being done around me so will have to buy new. Be worth it I suppose, all the off cuts I've found are too short so used them for the peas.

The polytunnel is right opposite me so won't have to go too far either, luckily.

Guess my soil ain't as heavy as yours then but you go down a foot and its orange. I think as I'm on the brow of a hill it drains bit easier. Plus I'm not seasoned to digging ..yet!

With the stones I'm finding I've nearly covered one path with them so finding it a lot less slippery on the rotten board things they've put down. Not sure if I'll have enough to do anymore paths after though. BTW what's your thoughts on woodchips for paths? We get them delivered off the council.. am thinking of using it?

                      Thanks @Snorky85
Everything that's been dug over has now been planted up  just one more long bed and a smaller bed to dig over and I can start getting arty/farty over paths and making it look pretty :spinning:

Sowed carrots, radish and rocket between the peas and another 2 rows of early spuds on the end of the long bed. Chucked a load of compost over peas/spuds. Moved the asda melons, 3 chillis (not all yet, testing), asters to poly, also took up 12 lavender plugs and potted up, planted my asparagus crowns in and give everything a feed.

POA for this week: break up the shoddy pallet composter, weed, put woodchip down, tidy up, sow flowers in cracks and get my dig on.
