Petunia exserta is an upright grower with a bushy habit. Rare in cultivation over here it is becoming quite common in the US. Here's the first bloom on my plants...........

'tis a shame that it is just an annual though.

On the contrary: if it were a perennial, it would lose much of its charm. It would just become a regular feature and very "meh". The care it takes to produce it annually ... that's what makes it doubly precious (in my book, at least)

This amazingly hot weather has certainly brought on so many of my plants. There won't be much left for June! My herbaceous border is looking quite colourful despite little flowering in it yet. Thank the lord it isn't or if that was full steam ahead as well then there'd be nothing left until next year!

The first of the Callistemons, salignus is just opening with pallidus and inferno just behind. They should be fully flowering when I get back in a weeks time.
Rigidus, laevis, seiberi and Perth Pink will follow soon SALIGNUS.JPG .
