I'll enter April with a flying start ... this Bird of Paradise was not open at 9.30am but was in this half open form at 10 o'clock ....

A couple of arty shots of it 'in flight' ...

It should be open all the way tomorrow ... and there's three more of them ... :)

Beautiful flowers and pics, Claire. I love Skimmias for the evergreen leaves and also for the dinky little flowers. Yours seems to be in the open, ours is quite in the shade.

    We have mini daffs -

and Lungwort blooming nicely at the moment -

Absolutely perfect tulips Dee. I have some just like those but I made a mistake and went for spots all over of them, much better when they are in a drift.

Lovely pictures everyone. Nothing fancy here, but its just nice to see a bit of colour in the garden after such a long bare time.

We've got Arabis alpina in white, Arabis alpina 'Rosea' in pink, Arabis blepharophylla small purple in centre, various primula, a Wallflower and a Pieris in the gravel.

Thanks Bob. The word you were searching for is potential. :D

But seriously - that a nice shape and will look very good when it is covered with flowers. But I am wondering about how you will cut the grass!

Thats a dark red Wallflower Bob. I will be taking seed from it and you can certainly have some.

I almost suggested gravel. I have used it both in front of my house and behind and think it works very well. You can then let plants flop over it and soften the lines.

You are just chock-a-block there Peter. :thumb:

You've certainly been busy Bob. :)

My first bloom has opened on my Gazania 'Kiss Yellow Flame' but it's just covered in buds ...
